The number of '152' registered cars sold in Clare has already surpassed the quivalent plate last year.
The new split-plate system has aimed to drive car sales in the last six months of the year, and appears to have been a success here.

Statistics published by the Society of the Irish Motor Industry show 135 new cars registered here last month.
Along with the figure for July, this means 640 new vehicles have been registered here in the past two months, up from 550 cars which had '142' plates in Clare.
