Calls have been made for a second NCT test centre to be opened in Co. Clare
Clarecastle TD, Joe Carey hopes Kilrush or Miltown Malbay could be possible locations for a new centre which could significantly cut down waiting times for certificates.
Deputy Carey is urging the Road Safety Authority to supply a new centre to deal with a backlog of applications, as recent figures show 65% of applicants at the Ennis centre have a wait time of between 30 and 60 days.
