Carey pragmatic about lack of frontbench position.

Clare Fine Gael TD Joe Carey has said he’s not disappointed at being left out of Enda Kenny’s new frontbench.

The Clarecastle TD was widely tipped for promotion for his loyalty to the party leader in the recent failed leadership challenge, but wasn’t included, though he was appointed as the party’s new Deputy Chief Whip.

Enda Kenny’s new team also omitted Ballynacally TD Pat Breen who backed Richard Bruton for leader but has since promised his loyalty to the party leader.

Deputy Joe Carey is pleased to see Richard Bruton back in the frontbench though, along with Limerick’s Michael Noonan as Finance spokesperson, but as for his own political ambitions, he’s happy to wait
