Clare County Council insist its more than willing to consult with Doolin Coastguard over the traffic chaos at the pier which the rescue service claim could cost lives.
The North Clare Coastguard Unit has expressed concern that a lack of car parking spaces is causing motorists to block the entrance to the rescue centre which resulted in delays to call outs over successive weeks.
On Tuesday they were delayed by up to 20 minutes to attend the scene of an incident at the Cliffs of Moher and are seeking a traffic warden to be placed in Doolin for the remainder of the tourist season.
Senior Engineer with Clare County Council Tom Tiernan say none of the issues highlighted by the coastguard have been raised with them but are willing to examine all avenues=
