Members of Clare County Council are being urged to resist any attempt to toll motorists on the Ennis Bypass and to make their opposition known to the Transport Minister

A recent report by the National Roads Authority has called for eight tolls to be installed across the country in order to raise 62 million euro.
The M18 is among those identified as a possible site for a toll, along with the N 20 at Croom in Limerick and the N17/18 Tuam Bypass.
Drivers currently pay 184 million a year in tolls and Newmarket on Fergus Councillor Pat McMahon feels that is enough
