Central Bank Reports Positives News About National Economy

The Central Bank says the Irish economy is growing at a healthy pace – mainly due to continued strong employment growth and modest wage increases.

In its latest quarterly bulletin, the bank has revised its forecast for this year downwards by zero-point-3 per-cent, to 3-point-3 per-cent, due to a weaker outlook for exports. 

The Central Bank has warned of many risks that could reduce its growth forecasts, including the US government's likely trade policy, the outcome of key European elections this year and the impact on Irish exporters of further weakness in sterling.
