Trolley numbers have fallen at University Hospital Limerick from a record high of 66 earlier this month, but overcrowding in Dooradoyle still remains among the most severe in the country. 

Colette Cowan believes the measures being taken to address the problem are having an effect. 

But she says they will continue to monitor the situation, and try to achieve further reductions.
