Businesses in Shannon say they’re delighted with plans to separate Shannon Airport from the Dublin Airport Authority and give it an independent, debt-free status.
Shannon Chamber of Commerce has said the government’s decision "sparks a new future" for the airport – and they’ve also welcomed news that the IDA and Enterprise Ireland will take on the job of promoting investment in the region instead of Shannon Development.

Chamber President Damien Gleeson says the national agencies are well-equipped to attract businesses into the county.
