Australian police have signalled that charges over the death of a Galway man in Perth may be stepped up.
22-year-old Abbas Al Jrood has appeared in court accused of grievous bodily harm after an alleged assault on Thomas Keaney.

It happened in the early hours of December 17th – and Mr Keaney died in hospital this weekend.
Observers now say that Mr Al Jrood may now be charged with a more serious offence.
