Charity To Help Thousands In ‘Food Poverty’

A new 'food bank' initiative's being set up to help more than half a million people living in Ireland facing food poverty.

The Bia Food Bank charity is working with St Vincent dePaul in the scheme which will see its first food distribution hub set up in Cork in June.

A second is planned for Dublin before the end of the year and the charities also plan to open 5 more around the country in the future.
