The outgoing Bishop of Killaloe will be honoured by Clare County Council today.
Clare’s local elected representatives will host a civic reception for Bishop Willie Walsh to honour his 15 years of service to the diocese, County Clare and particularly the town of Ennis, where he’ll continue to reside following his retirement next Month.
The reception will take place at Aras Chontae an Chlair this evening.

Bishop Willie Walsh will officially step down from his role as head of the diocese following the ordination of Bishop Elect Fr. Kieran O’Reilly on August 29th.
