Claims PUP Is Pushing Clare Families Over income Threshold For SUSI Grants

Clare’s Fianna Fáil Senator is calling for the PUP to be disregarded when students are applying for third level grants.

Those who received the pandemic unemployment payment while out of work during lockdown, may now lose out on third level funding, as the payment is putting many households over the income threshold for the SUSI grant.

The matter has been raised in the Seanad by Clare Senator Timmy Dooley, who says he’s been contacting by a number of students and parents in this county, who are affected by it.
