Clare's Fianna Fáíl TD says it's becoming clear that a row over out-of-hours rostering is the main driver behind the recently announced changes to services in parts of the county.
The GP co-operative claimed that falling GP numbers was behind a decision to scale back services in East, West and North Clare but the HSE says there are only two fewer doctors across the county over the past six years.
The ShannonDoc board is due to meet today and Deputy Timmy Dooley is urging doctors to come together to find a safe alternative to cutting back services.
