A Clare anti-fracking campaigner claims a report into the controversial practise of extracting gas from shale rock, isn't far reaching enough.

An EPA published report has highlighted potential risks to ground water and air quality as a result of fracking,  but it's project leader has said some of those concerns could be overcome.

The Loop Head peninsula has been identified as an area where such operations could be successful, and exploratory assessments have been carried out there despite strong local concern.

The Minister for Communications says the study backs up the current nationwide ban on fracking in Ireland and Susan Griffin of Fracking Free Clare says she's more encouraged by decisions being made in Leinster House
