Clare Cancer Support Credits Albert Reynolds With Its Foundation

The founders of the Clare Cancer Support Centre are paying tribute to the late Albert Reynolds, and say their centre in Kilnamona would not have been possible without him.

The former Taoiseach supported a number of cancer initiatives in his life was also asked to back the charitable efforts of a number of people in Clare.

Mary Hewson of Slainte an Chlair says Albert Reynolds helped pave the way for the foundation of their group.

Meanwhile, a state funeral will be held to mark the passing of Albert Reynolds at the Sacred Heart Church in Donnybrook on Monday – followed by burial in Shanganagh Cemetery in Shankill, Co Dublin.

Mr Reynolds will lie in repose at the Mansion House in Dublin from tomorrow afternoon.
