Concern has been expressed about the impact in Clare after a leading livestock exporter went into receivership.
TLT international, based in Mullingar, had previously exported up to 30,000 weanlings every year.

Reports say the company owes creditors millions of euro, and that marts along the Western part of the country are among those worst affected. However, a senior source within Clare Marts, which includes branches in Ennis, Ennistymon, Scariff, Kilfenora and Kilrush says they are unaffected.
Clare Fianna Fail TD Timmy Dooley has expressed concern that the development will lead to reduced competition for farmers here.
