The Environment Minister is being asked to clarify new home building laws, after concerns were raised by members of Ennis Town Council.
The new Building Control Regulations took effect on March 1st, with requirements for certification from registered Architects, Surveyors and engineers, but fears have been expressed that this could drive up building costs by tens of thousands of euro.

The regulations are aimed at higher quality standards following problems with unfinished estates, but here in Clare concerns have been raised over an end to traditional direct labour methods for one off houses.
