Clare's construction industry is showing signs of recovery from the economic downturn.
Planning permission was granted for more homes here in the third quarter of this year than in any other three-month period since 2010.
Between July and September, planning authorities gave the go-ahead for 176 new houses and three flats to be build in Clare.
While this number of new homes is still a long way short of levels seen before the economic crash, it is the highest figure seen here since the beginning of 2010.
The majority of the growth relates to housing estates, meanwhile, with only 38 of the permissions coming for one-off houses.
After years of relative stagnation in the building sector, signs of a recovery are now appearing throughout Ireland – the third quarter also saw a 115% increase in the number of home-building projects given the green light.
