A Clare county councillor believes a fifteen per cent reduction to property tax should be retained next year.
It's been confirmed that Clare is one of nine local authorities that has been told it can reduce the tax, as has been the case this year.

Under the current system, councils retain eighty per cent of money collected, while the remaining twenty per cent goes towards a Governement-operated equalisation fund.
Clare County Councillors are due to make a decision in the coming weeks but Councillor Richard Nagle says any reduction in costs for residents here would be very welcome
