Clare Councillors are looking to give a shot in the arm to the county's villages with a new incentive scheme for commercial developments.
Local representatives have passed a motion calling for levies to be waived on new business developments in areas that are suffering a population decline.

Council officials say the existing levy rate is lower than in most other counties, and that supports are available to encourage commercial developments in villages.
However, Lissycasey Councillor PJ Kelly thinks scrapping them altogether could give some areas a shot in the arm.
