Clare County Councillors will be giong underground for their next monthly meeting.
A motion has been put forward by Independent Councillor James Breen, calling for the November meeting of the authority to be held in the North Clare's famous Ailwee caves.

The proposal, aimed at marking the tourist attraction's 40th anniversary, caused some controversy with a number of councillors objecting and the council itself pointing out that traditionally these meetings are held at Aras Contae an Chláir.
But the motion was passed and Councillor Breen says he's disappointed that some councillors failed to see the benefits of the excursion.
