Clare County Council has been accused of prioritising the needs of the ESB over those of residents in the areas set to be affected by the Limerick Northern Distributor Road.
All elected representatives in East and South East Clare have called on the local authority to explore upgrading existing roads, instead of proceeding with the controversial development.

It’s claimed that the Limerick Northern Distributor Road will split the community of Parteen in two, and potentially exxacerbate flooding problems, though Clare County Council insists this won’t occur.
However, South East Clare Councillor Cathal Crowe feels the way in which people’s views have been sought is unfair.
