Clare County Council is to consider calling for a scheme which would allow motorists enter into a savings scheme to help pay their road tax.
The program is modelled on the Television License Savings Book, and would allow people buy stamps, perhaps from local authorities or post offices, which in turn would be used to make contributions to the taxing of vehicles.
Motorists currently have the option to pay road tax in three month installments, but a surcharge is levied on this.
