Clare County Council are to hold their first official meeting since March this afternoon.
Local representatives are switching their meeting from the regular venue of Áras Chontae an Chláir to Glór in Ennis, to allow them follow social distancing rules.
This afternoon’s meeting is likely to be dominated by the impact of COVID-19 here, and will include a proposal for the Council to freeze commercial rates for businesses affected by the pandemic.

Lissycasey Fianna Fáil Councillor PJ Kelly says that the fact is that some businesses will close, but the Council can help keep some in business.
