Clare Councillors have unanimously backed calls for the University of Limerick to be re-named as the University of County Clare and Limerick
Members of the local authority would like a new title for the region's University, as it continues to expand on the Clare side of the River Shannon.

More than half of the college will be located here by 2020, and local representatives feel the name change would be of benefit to the county.
