Planning applications have been lodged for revamps of two of Clare’s sports facilities.
Clare County Council is seeking to carry out upgrades at both Active Ennis Tim Smyth Park and the Kilrush Sports Complex.
In the county town, the plans would see significant upgrades to the existing changing rooms building, while moving part of the basketball court to allow for the new extended building.

Similar plans at Kilrush would see the changing room block upgraded and extended too.
A decision on the Ennis application is due by January; while it will be February before it’s known if the Kilrush project will proceed.
