Results of water quality tests conducted at Kilkee beach are expected this afternoon.
Clare County Council conducted the tests on Monday, after a ‘Do Not Swim’ notice was put in place on the advice of the HSE, following the discharge of wasterwater into the sea.
Irish Water, the agency responsible for the indrastructure, says a storm rising main had burst, adding that it regrets the impact on the town.

Once the test results are known, the HSE will determine whether the notice will be reviewed.
