Clare Crusaders Using Vital Funding To Counteract Pandemic’s Negative Impact On Children

A local children’s charity is highlighting the importance of fundraising in dealing with the impacts of the pandemic as a local cancer survivor is set to shave his head for the organisation.

The Clare Crusaders Children’s Clinic, which provides children with free access to the services they require, is one of the many charities whose fundraising efforts were hindered by the pandemic.

However, Quin’s John Colleran, who was diagnosed with cancer in 2019, will be cutting his hair and beard over the next number of weeks into a style chosen by those who donate to the charity.

Manager of the Clare Crusaders, Ann Norton, says a recent case where they were asked to provide assistance for a primary school boy who had forgotten how to speak highlights the importance of funding their work.
