Clare Developer takes court action over failed Dublin property deal

Clare Developer Bernard McNamara is to take a court case today against the Dublin Docklands Development Authority over a property deal that fell through.

It relates to the 24 acre Irish Glass Bottle site in Ringsend in Dublin which was bought for 412 million euro but is now worth just 60 million

The Lisdoonvarna native and former Clare County Councillor claims the DDDA failed to fulfil its obligations to jointly develop the site

The site, which was bought between McNamara and financier Derek Quinlan for 412 million euro three years ago, spans 24 acres in Ringsend in Dublin.

The money came from 150 million in funds and loans of 295 million euro.

The DDDA values the site now at just 60 million euro.

McNamara is arguing the authority also failed to get planning permission for the site

The case is before the Commercial Court in Dublin later this today
