The Clare Developer of the Longboat Quay complex has offered to spare residents from a one million euro bill.
Bernard McNamara's Gendsong Ltd had developed the property – it's now in receivership – and the Lisdoonvarna native has now reportedly offered to complete fire safety works at the apartment complex at cost price.

The works are needed to comply with a fire safety notice issued by Dublin Fire Brigade in October, which led to the fear that residents would be forced to evacuate their homes.
The Irish Independent reports that the move would save each homeowner between 4,500 and 9,000 euro.
