Clare doctor concerned over trolly situation

An East Clare GP has warned that staff in the MidWest's accident and emergency department simply cannot cope, and could pay the price for the ongoing overcrowding there.

Scariff Doctor, Conor McGee, the President of the National Association of GPs, has called for further investment in hospitals, and in general practice, in light of the high numbers in Emergency Departments this week.

Today, 584 people have been waiting for treatment on trolleys and chairs throughout the country, including 40 at University Hospital Limerick.
