It's claimed that Clare emigrants are being denied job opportunities in other countries, because of delays in acquiring driving licenses at home.
Since October, applications for licenses have been carried out at National Driver Licence Service centres across the country, instead of through their local authorities.

However, the Dáil has heard this changeover has led to increased waiting times, with some of these too long for people who need to renew the document.
The government is hopeful these times will be cut in the coming weeks, but Clare Fianna Fáil TD Timmy Dooley says it's already too late for some.
