Clare Expert Predicts Further Restrictions As Indian Variant Spreads

A prominent Clare infectious disease expert predicts that further public health measures will have to be introduced to stop the spread of the Indian variant.

There’s evidence that the new variant is growing at twice the rate of the highly contagious UK variant, with more than 72 cases already recorded in this country.

Covid-19 vaccines have been found to offer a high level of protection against the Indian variant in the UK, especially after two doses, however 70% of the population here are still awaiting their first vaccine.
