The Clare family of a man who was killed in an altercation outside a London Pub have expressed relief at a verdict of unlawful killing returned at his inquest – six years after his tragic death.
21 year old Wayne Kelly – whose parents Martin and Tina are from Clarecastle and Ennis, suffered fatal head injuries during a fracas outside The Harp pub in West Hendon, on April 10, 2005.
Barnet Coroners court in London heard Mr Kelly, who was known as ‘Smiley’, died of a massive blow to the head minutes after he was punched by a doorman, having intervened in an argument between two men and bouncers at the pub.
No one has ever been held responsible for his death, but following the verdict of unlawful killing, Wayne’s father Martin Kelly told Clare FM his new hope that justice will be served.
