A leading farming organisation has hit out at a government proposal which could see payments to Clare farmers reduced if they do not comply with safety guidelines.
Agriculture Minister Simon Coveney has said that safety issues need to be part of the CAP debate, and has suggested that his department could attach safety conditions to farm supports.
However, the ICSA has hit out at this and are describing the plan as ‘draconian’ and ‘unnecessary’
