Dozens of farmers from Clare will join hundreds of others from across the country today in protesting against an EU beef trade deal with South America.
The IFA opposes the EU’s plans to push ahead with the Mercosur deal and offer trade access for 70,000 tonnes of beef from the continent – a move they believe will damage the industry here.
The organisation will stage a demonstration outside the EU Commission offices on Lower Mount Street in Dublin from 11.30 this morning.
