Clare farmers have expressed delight at the decision by teagasc to maintain it’s office in Scariff.
The East Clare facility was one of 48 which were due to shut their doors, but authorities at Teagasc have been persuaded to keep the facility open by leasing the building, rather than closing it.
Teagasc closed it’s facility in Ennistymon last year, but farmers in the east of the county will now be able to avail of training and advisory services at the more convenient location.
