Clare’s most senior garda is confident that his officers foiled a planned armed robbery on a premises in Ennis last week.
Officers have now recovered three stolen vehicles in connection with the incident in the town centre during which a garda was injured as members of the suspected gang attempted to make their escape on Abbey Street.
One car – a grey honda civic was found burnt out shortly afterwards and two further cars have now also been recovered.
