Clare Gardai are calling for an immediate reversal of public sector pay cuts.
Representatives of Gardai from the Clare Division will raise the issue today along with other motions at the annual conference of the Garda Representative Association which is taking place in Limerick.
Also on the today’s agenda, Clare gardai are backing calls for condemnation of the arbitrary manner in which Garda pay was successively cut; and what’s described as "the dishonest approach of including bonuses as part of the pay of higher public servants and not applying the same standards to all."
GRA members from the Clare Division are also seeking a review of the Garda fleet and safety equipment – as well as new procedures regarding the attendance of a GRA representative when the Garda Ombudsman is called in to investigate serious incidents involving on or off-duty Gardai.
