Gardaí in Clare are cracking down on speed today as part of Operation Slow Down.
The initiative, which is being carried out in conjunction with Clare County Council and the RSA is aimed at reducing the number of speed-related collisions.

Its claimed that a 1% reduction in your speed will reduce fatal collisions by 4%.
A number of high-visibility speed enforcement activities will be carried out today, while Garda personnel are manning display stands at key venues around the county to provide road safety advice.
Sergeant Darragh Molloy of the Clare Garda Traffic Corps says they'll be concentrating on areas where there's been a rise in complaints recently.
