Gardaí are urging farmers in Clare to watch out for their neighbour’s property, as well as their own, as part of efforts to boost security on farms across the county.
Clare’s Crime Prevention Officer says farmers should restrict access to their property and install locked gates to prevent against intruders, and to regularly check walls or fencing for breaches.
Sergeant Triona Brooks is also encouraging people to install an alarm in vulnerable areas and to consider CCTV, as a means to provide surveillance in places out of view of the home.
