Gardaí are reminding road users in Clare that penalty points for what's known as the "Lifesaver Offences" have increased.
Additional Garda checkpoints remain in place today in an effort to reduce the number of people failing to wear their seatbelt, speeding or driving carelessly.

It's also an offence to use mobile phones or other handheld devices while operating a vehicle.
