The Gathering has been officially launched in Clare with plans for over 200 events already planned for this year.
Huge crowds turned out in Ennis this afternoon for the Gathering Expo in Glor with speical ambassadors like Martin Hayes, Bishop Willie Walsh, and Aoibhinn Garrihy of Fair City fame on hand to lend their support.

Up to one hundred events and festivals were showcased as part of the expo, which saw the launch of a packed guide to local gatherings and the lighting of "Solas an Chlair" – a flame which symbolises the welcome on offer to visitors to County Clare this year.
