Issues of Domestic Violence against women are being highlighted at a special Valentines Day event in Ennis.
As part of a global campaign against domestic abuse, groups like the Clare Women’s Network and Clare Haven services are inviting people to join them in a parade from Ennis Courthouse to an evening of talk and entertainment in the Queens Hotel from 5pm.

Clare Haven provided refuge to 83 women and 123 children last year, but worryingly, they were unable to accommodate 203 women and 295 children due to funding constraints.
Spokesperson Ita Lee hopes this evening’s event will help to raise awareness of the problems facing many local families.
