Clare Hotelier Expresses Fear Of Jobs Losses Ahead Of Budget

A South East Clare hotelier believes ‘jobs will be lost’ in the sector without an extension of the wage subsidy scheme in Budget 2022.

Finance Minister Paschal Donohoe is understood to be examining a number of options on how, or if, the state support will continue for businesses into next year.

The Irish Hotels Federation believes outlets will be unable to retain staff if the scheme isn’t extended and want the initiative to continue until at least next summer.
