Chimney fires account for the majority of call-outs to houses by Clare’s Fire Service around this time of year.
There was 15 reports of chimney fires at this time last year, many of these bacause chimneys had not been cleaned.

It maks ten per cent of all house fires reported to the Clare Fire Service in 2014.
Chief Fire Officer is Adrian Kelly is encouraging people to take precautions to prevent fires – including having chimneys cleaned regularly.
