The chairman of Clare County Council's housing committee says the shortage of housing here has now reached epidemic levels.
Nearly €30 million has been announced for housing provision in Clare this year, but despite this Shannon Councillor Gerry Flynn feels it's almost impossible to cater for the over 3,000 people now on the local waiting list.

He says the announcements are worthless, until the issue is properly dealt with.
