Clare Junior Minister Open To Welcoming Trump To Doonbeg

Clare's Junior Minister for Employment and Small Business says he has "no problem welcoming Donald Trump" to the county.

The billionaire tycoon and US presidential hopeful is due to visit his Doonbeg Hotel and Golf Resort on Friday week as part of a visit to a number of his businesses in the UK and Ireland.

A number of political groups, including the Green party and AA/People Before Profit have called for a peaceful protest to take place, in light of comments which have been described by the Taoiseach as "racist and dangerous".

The Trump organisation has previously said that they will leave Doonbeg if plans for a wall of rock armour aren't given the go-ahead, and Clare Minister of State Pat Breen says any loss of jobs would have a major impact.
