Clare Leader Forum Member Believes Decision On UN Rights Protocol Will Come In 2022

A member of the Clare Leader Forum believes Ireland will implement the protocol of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities by the midway point of next year.

The matter was raised by Clare Fine Gael Senator Martin Conway in the Seanad earlier this week.

While Ireland ratified the convention back in 2018, it has yet to be formally adopted.

Disability activist and Clare Leader Forum member Dermot Hayes says though the delays are frustrating, he believes a decision will be made in 2022.
