A Clareman who has been based in the Philippines for 20 years is urging people here to donate what they can to assist people in the storm-ravaged country.
The comments from Kilrush native Joe Riley comes as religious bodies, local groups and the UN all contribute to disaster relief efforts to help the almost 10 million people affected by Typhoon Hiyan.

Up to 10,000 people are feared dead after winds reaching up to 200 miles per hour hit parts of the country, while today rescue efforts have been hampered by another approaching storm and by an earthquake, the second to hit the region in the space of a month.
